Captain Joshua Huddy Chapter, NSDAR

National Society Daughters of the American Revolution

The Captain Joshua Huddy Chapter was founded March 8, 1930 in Toms River N.J by Mrs. Virginia Watson Reeve and 17 others.


We provide an annual scholarships to a local high school student.
We award DAR “Good Citizenship” and “American History” medals to students in Ocean County.
We support the ROTC, boy scouts and honor Eagle Scouts.
We collect and deliver clothing, hand made blankets and toiletries to the Veteran’s Home in Vineland, NJ every year and make cash donations to their activities fund.
We support our military service dogs, “War Dogs", by collecting and shipping needed items to Iraq and Afganistan.
We promote service to America by donating time and needed goods locally, including Verteran Organizations, animal shelters and mentoring school children.
We encourage and promote conservation.
We promote respect and honor for American Heritage.
We give assistance to needy families and make cash contributions to worthy children in approved schools in North Carolina, Alabama, South Carolina, Kentucky, Georgia and Massachusetts.
In the past we have:
Provided citizenship manuals to prospective citizens in Ocean County.
Contributed materials to Ellis Island.
Provided for the Valley Forge Bell Tower
